MISS DARQ is the alias of artist/designer ASHLEIGH DARQ

Born and raised on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia.

Obsessed with the darker and sexual themes of art and life, it seems almost inevitable she would now find herself immersed in the notorious industry of stripping.

She is currently working on a portfolio that embodies the essential subjects to the scene, the girls, the patrons, the setting, the common perceptions from both inside and outside the industry.

Still forging a style that varies between musician album covers, t shirt designs, web site designs, commissions and more. Enquire via FB or email ash@missdarq.com for more info.

"MISS DARQ" completed her Diploma of Visual Arts at Chisholm Tafe in 2011 and is set to begin Bachelor of Fine Arts at RMIT this year.

“On the couch” 2011 Oil on canvas
A very iconic image for me from my last work place where this is set. Feet sore and customers thinning (if there even were any), the dancer find solace on the couch, arms crossed, attitude flaring.
And now for something that has struck a chord with me:
David Foster Wallace’s thoughts on Kafka:
“That the horrific struggle to establish a human self results in a self whose humanity is inseparable from that horrific struggle. That our endless and impossible journey home is in fact our home”
